Pop-Up Cranach

The Kulturmarken-Award has been presented every year since 2006. In 2015 Pop-Up Cranach was nominated in the category "European Education Project Of The Year".

Willkommen@HotelGlobal

In 2011 the Willkommen@HotelGlobal exibition won the Promising Practice Award.
This prize is awarded by the ACM (Association of Children's Museums) and MetLife Foundation.

The Promising Practice Award is awarded to outstanding projects and unusual or innovative approaches to museum exhibitions which promote the general movement for children's museums.

The Jury's Verdict:

Children check into the hotel, discover rooms and meet exhibition educators in the role of hotel employees or guests. These 'hotel employees and guests' tell their life stories which introduce and advance the topic of globalisation among the children. Guests are asked to put themselves in other people's shoes and think of creative solutuons to various problems. Topics include climate change, world trade and the limited amount of natural resources.

The exhibition is a co-production between four different children's museums in Germany and Austria. These are: Alice Museum For Children in FEZ Berlin, ZOOM Kindermuseum in Vienna, Frida and Fred in Graz and Edwin Scharff Museum in Neu-Ulm. In each of these locations, there will be a series of accompanying programmes in the form of talks, discussions and workshops, all of which will promote a deeper understanding of the phenomenom of globalisation.
